---------- BOTB 2015 ----------
Calling on all Formula Owners,
Due to the failed weather prediction of an impactful storm that was targeting the Jersey Shore we postponed our BIRDS on the BAY Formula Rendezvous to THIS WEEKEND! Please check weekend's plans below which have been modified from the original gameplan. Weather is looking perfect and we hope to see everyone out for one last hoorah of the 2016 boating season!
BIRDS on the BAY 2016 UPDATE:
Due to weather we had to postpone our event. We understand this late in the season many boaters are moving onto fall activities. However, to make sure we keep on with tradition and keep BOTB alive, Year 7 will go on THIS WEEKEND!
Saturday Sept 24th - F-Cove 10:30AM - ?... (RAINED OUT)
Casual group hangout in protected cove.
Sunday Sept 25th - Latitudes 10:30AM
Cruise to restaurant for Sunday Brunch! If enough interest and good weather a possible raft-up a TICES may follow after!
Just as a reminder, everyone is responsible for themselves, their crew, and their own vessels. We ask that you boat safely and responsibly. Please be sure to follow all boating laws, rules, guidelines, and regulations. Lastly, we ask you please keep a watchful eye out for others as well, this way we all can be sure to have enjoyable day!
Our 6th Annual Birds on the Bay Formula Rendezvous was a complete success! This year was our first crack at incorporating a fundraiser by helping a boy named Tyler who was recently diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy developed during infancy. Through VERY generous sponsors we we were able to move our annual rendezvous to a location and host Tyler and his family for a day of fun, entertainment, and great food.
Comstock Yacht Sales, New Jersey's Formula Dealership opened their doors to us and contributed slips and a catered dinner. Several local entertainers donated their time to give us live entertainment during the day and Formula Headquarters sponsored a Itunes recording Saxophonist and also sent us Formula Gear to raffle off. Award winning gourmet food trucks came in an offered attendees excellent food right at the marina. Sharkey Images was there covering the event with awesome photos of the boats and people. We were in Speedonthewater Magazine and Boating Magazine.
Formula Owners came from all over and covered a donation Captain's Fee and Mate's Fee which in return they enjoyed a slip for the night, catered dinner, and entertainment all day. 100% of those "fees" were donated to Tyler! Lots of owners went above and beyond and were very generous. As a group we were able to raise $8,000 and handed it over to Tyler and family to help offset medical bills.
The following day for those that were interested we did a group cruise to F-Cove which is a local popular cove and hung out for the day socializing on the water.
Formula Owners came from all over New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and even as far as Massachusetts. We had all model ranges from Fastechs, PCs, SSs, SR-1s, and even a Yacht. Thank you for all that contributed to helping us make this a success and we hope you enjoyed the experience joining a FOONJ event!
Stay tuned for next year!
Thank you to our sponsors: Comstock Yacht Sales, Formula Boats, Sherman's Boat Basin, Ice Cream Shop of Manahawkin, Romano's Disco Fries, Fork in the Road, Justified Band, Bill Stasse, Geno Marriott
